IMBUED & VAMPIRES
"Rotting and decaying... on the inside."

VAMPIRES AND WHAT THEY ARE
Vampires are regarded as 'animated corpses' that share enough characteristics with the vampires of western folklore, being enough to invite the use of such name for them. What we see in movies, vampires like Dracula -- European nobles acting with good grace and discretion -- were the rule in the Old World. In the early 21st century however, vampires seem to be largely thugs with little to distuinguish them from human counterparts in gangs, and organized crime.

Vampires are extremely powerful and dangerous, which is why extreme caution is recommended should you identify one. This doesn't mean you liquidate it from long range; that might not do the trick, even if a sniper takes a shot. While we were chosen, so were they, except they are humans who have been 'kissed', at least that is how they refer to it. Humans being humans, give one supernatural powers, a long life and a desire to drink blood, and you've probably got yourself a problem. But just as rehabilitation is a better option than the electirc chair, perhaps less gunplay and more conversation is the way to deal with these.

For the powers they bear, the most notable are their physical enhancements, consisting of resilience, speed and strength, which all peak at a superhuman level. Although behind these, they bear many other which have yet to be documented. A fair amount of information regarding the vampires has been gathered and archive -- here are a few facts regarding vampires:

They cannot stand sunlight, and they are mostly nocturnal beings.
They need to drink blood to survive, being unable to stomach any other food or drink; this comes in handy as a factor to identify one of them, pay careful attention to the one person in the group whose beer and food is always left untouched.
Religious artifacts appear to have a varying impact on vampires, depending on perhaps the strength in faith of the one bearing and brandishing them.
Hurting vampires seems incredibly difficult, bullets have little to no effect, blunt impact being inefficient as well. They have exhibited a weakness to fire, perhaps dead tissue can withstand blunt trauma but not being burned.
Vampires do bleed and retain blood in their systems, however it doesn't circulate.

HOW THEY AFFECT US

An encounter with such animated corpse may turn out to be nothing serious for an Imbued, as long as they are regarded among the mundane. Imbued are prey just as much as the others are, at least in the view of the vampires; for we are truly, no prey, we are the predator. Many questions raise with how Imbued are affected by vampires, here are a few of them.

Can Imbued be Embraced, ghouled or blood bound?

Imbued can not be subjected to the Embrace. Any attempt to Embrace them will automatically and inevitably fail and kill the Imbued. After death, the soul of the Imbued can not be caught by any Path of Necromancy or similar disciplines either, as a result of the Messengers not allowing the Imbued to become Wraiths.

Additionally, Imbued can not become Ghouls either, not even a blood bond works when attempted with an Imbued. Feeding an Imbued blood will result in the gag reflex of the one in question to kick in and immediately vomit the blood ingested. Many might try to find loopholes around this and inject the blood directly into the Imbued's system, to no avail though as blood injected into the Imbued's veins dissipates, turning into nothing.

How does the 'Kiss' affect Imbued?

Imbued with active Conviction are immune to the rush of pleasure brought along with the 'Kiss' of a vampire, whereas a human would be overcome by the sensation and fall as easy prey, Imbued are a whole other story. Not even unshielded Imbued get to experience the pleasure of the 'Kiss', being overridden by great, but not crippling pain and numbness spreading from the bite's location.

What Disciplines are Imbued immune to while having active Conviction?

Disciplines that act as manipulation of the emotions or the mind of the Imbued, those that induce supernatural deception and/or fear, curses (wether brought along by blood magic or otherwise) and body alteration automatically fail when directed at an Imbued who has active Conviction. This includes but is not limited to Chimerstry, Dementation, Dominate, Obfuscate, Presence, certain powers of Obtenebration, Daimonion, Visceratika, and various curses/rituals of Thaumaturgy.

haahahahahahahahahaha lmfao
To see the face of immortality, you must leave the human world
behind.
This fire, these woods, the wind in the branches overhead,
This is the true world, the Mother’s realm,
The seat of the immortal, the heart of our world.
The Weaver spins a gilded web, and strong, but it is false,
Ephemeral, when placed against the branches or the flames.
Steel and glass give brave assurances, but only viewed against our
fragile flesh.
Inside that flesh, inside ourselves, is immortality.
