Unnamed story
« on: July 12, 2017, 02:15:17 AM »
Prologue
Spoiler for Theme music:
Like all those of men who follow and die, I stood against the odds and forces of evil in centuries old War that I and my men fought bravely; without fear, without losing hope because we knew - we knew that better days are to come, and we must assure they will. For life without hope and dreams, is empty and pointless. Life is not nice, life is death and surrow and pain and crying. Hapiness is part of it just like pain, and it goes in the circle. When something loses its life energy, it feeds others. After tired animal collapses on the ground from wounds, bacterias eat it, plants eat those bacterias and life continues. Next animal will eat that plant. And nothing can't stop that process because no one can stop nature.
For centuries my men had enemies on all sides. On both foes and allies. They betrayed us, they killed us and they almost ended us. But as life, we can not be killed because there is always hope. Since the Burning Times, Reneissance and Final Nights - we Verbenae stood against all odds, defending what is ours and fighting for our belief.
From the Wycks, their seed - Aeduna... To the First Cabal and betrayment of Eloine - we lived our lives to the fullest. We embraced death, pain and happiness for all combined makes life.

For centuries, we survived.

In the days of feast-slaying, when the wolves
Tore out the hearts of men,
Some humans, by the fire kissed,
Learned great arts and brought the stars to earth.

To see the face of immortality, you must leave the human world
behind.
This fire, these woods, the wind in the branches overhead,
This is the true world, the Mother’s realm,
The seat of the immortal, the heart of our world.
The Weaver spins a gilded web, and strong, but it is false,
Ephemeral, when placed against the branches or the flames.
Steel and glass give brave assurances, but only viewed against our
fragile flesh.
Inside that flesh, inside ourselves, is immortality.
