Character Profiles / Enyeto Liwanu [W.I.P]
« Last post by Mr.death on Today at 01:24:21 AM »
♦ Names: Enyeto Liwanu
♦ Date of birth: 14th August 1977
♦ Place of birth: Yakima Nez Perce (as Native Americans call it
♦ Tribe: Mountain Guardians

The Mountain Guardians are the youngest of the Gurahl tribes, coming into being after the werebears crossed into the Pure Lands. They learned to coexist with the Wendigo, Uktena, and even the local Bastet. They served as shamans for the native northern tribes, and sometimes lived openly with the American Indians of the southwest. Risking annihilation to cooperate with those who had hunted them in the past, they worked with the Garou to cleanse the Pure Lands of the taint of the Pattern Breaker. They withdrew en masse when the European Garou arrived, leaving nothing but legends to tell of their presence there. Their return to fight the Soul Eater signaled their re-entry into the world. Upon their return, however, they discovered that during their absence, their grizzly bear Kin became almost extinct. Unwilling to leave their Kinfolkís fate in the hands of those who had harmed them already, the Mountain Guardians vowed to remain, and today they fight to preserve their existing grizzly bear Kinfolk, while preparing themselves to stand with the Garou on the front lines of the Last Battles.

♦ Auspice: Uzmati (The Full Moon)

This auspice governs a Gurahlís solitary travels and introduces him to his place as a warrior of Gaia. Uzmati Gurahl feel the music of battle in their spirit, preparing them to fight off any threats to their protected lands or creatures. Gurahl who dwell in areas where they must continually fight the Wyrmís minions sometimes remain in this auspice for years, while others visit it only briefly. At some point, usually after taking a mate or feeling the need for a more settled life, they progress to the next auspice.

♦ Personal Totem: The Death Bear

As the Death Bear, known to some tribal people as Mangi, the Spirit Hunter, Bear assumes a masculine aspect. Mangi guards the entry to the Otherworld of the dead, and he takes charge of the spirits of Gurahl who enter his domain on the way to reunion with Gaia. Mangi represents the anger of Bear over the pain and injustice perpetrated on the children of Grat She-Bear, his consort. While Mangi is the totem of Death to the Gurahl, he also stands as the way to rebirth, for only with his permission may Gurahl return the spirits of the slain back to their bodies.

♦ Breed: Homid

For hundreds of years after the War of Rage, the Gurahl removed themselves from the world - including human society - to protect themselves from the Garouís predation. This meant that there were extensive periods - entire generations - where there were no homid werebears born at all. Gurahl born from humans are beginning to make a comeback, though they are still sparse in number. Traditionally, human-born Gurahl were born into tribal societies that were somewhat apart from mainstream urban civilization, or among cultures with strong traditions and connections to the natural world. However, many of these families have integrated with urban culture, bringing forth a generation of homid Gurahl who are comfortable with high-tech gadgets, cars, computers, and the like. To make up for past losses in Kinfolk, Gurahl have tried to select new groups of humans as breeding stock. While these may be from any culture, werebears are very careful in choosing their mates, and many have taken partners from among those involved in medical careers, peace-keeping duties, environmental activism, or wilderness protection.

OOC Questions

Spoiler for Hidden:

Name and age: Daniel, 21.

Your country and GMT: Ireland GMT 0

What does "RP" stand for and explain what it is: RP stands for role-play. This means taking on the persona of a character and acting and reacting like them in everyday life. You take on their personality, traits, wishes and dreams and help them reach their goals.

What does "PG" stand for and explain what it is (provide examples): PG stands for power gaming, which is being able to do this your character would not be physically or mentally be able to do. So for example, as a human, my character would not be able to fly, so if I said /me flies in the sky to escape the robber, I'd be power gaming.

Another example might be, /me kicks X down the street. /do I lean in for a kiss and bite your face off.

What does "MG" stand for and explain what it is (provide examples): MG stands for Meta-gaming. This means using Out Of Character knowledge as In Character information. So for example, reading a player's profile in the forums, realizing they are a vampire/wolf/demon and reacting to them on the server that way, even though my character has no idea that they do this.

The most simple example is reading someone's name above their head in game and saying it out loud when I have never met them.

3. Essay

3.1 Tell us some things about yourself: My name is John Gregory and I was born in Norwich, England in 1964.
My mother was a dress-maker and my father was a shoe shiner. We weren't a particularly rich family, most of my childhood clothes and toys came from my older brother, James. In 1982, I left school and applied to join the Army for a year to get some experience and because I wanted to follow my brother who was a Lieutenant in the Army Corps. I ended up spending five years in the Army, reaching the rank of Corporal II. During my time in the Army, I received basic training in first aid, linguistics, communication, firearms, melee combat and graduated with a degree in Military Ethics.

After graduating, I decided to travel the world. I spent some time in Thailand studying Tai-Chi and studying the cultures of the East. I returned home to learn that James had been discharged from the Army for disorderly conduct and decided to track him down. My parents informed me that he had been travelling around the States and had ended up in Palomino Creek and asked me to bring him home. I made them a promise that I'd do just that. I got on the first plane and landed in Los Santos airport a few days ago and have decided to make myself useful while I search for my brothers whereabouts, by helping to protect the citizens of the town from any who might threaten them.

3.2 Why should we pick you instead of the other applicants: I believe I would make a particularly good candidate because of my military background and degree.
I have worked with firearms before, through my military training when I was younger. As I trained in the Army, I learned how to work as a team, take orders, respect commanders and use my instincts and training to perform to the best of my ability. This is what I offer to the Sheriff's Department, 110% commitment to the job in hand.

My degree in Military Ethics and History ensures that I know how ethics operate and can conduct myself to a high standard and have a very strong sense in right and wrong. I know how to operate in high intensity situations and can perform well when under stress. My choice to do a degree in ethics shows that my belief in moral law and what is right and wrong isn't just instinctual, it's a passion.
Working for the Sheriff's Department would give me a good focus on operating on the right side of the law and continuing my career serving with honor.

3.3 How do you imagine yourself after one year in the department: After one year in the Department I would have hoped to have made a good name for myself among my colleagues and superiors and have a trusted and respected reputation among the citizens of the town. I would hope that I would have progressed somewhat up the career ladder and that my commanders know that I can be trusted and relied upon to do my duties well and to the best of my ability.

My aim after a year would be to help establish the Sheriff's Department as an effective department in combating crime and protecting the citizens of the town.
