I. The Awakening

It's been quite a rough week for this boy, after many exams he finally finds time to land in bed for a well deserved sleep, he reaches for a book from the shelf, “The Path of Druidry; Walking the Ancient Green Way”, reading a few pages before falling asleep, leaving the book by his side as he rests.

The boy's name is Jason Dawnwood, and his constant passions ever since he was a child was occultism, he's felt a strong attraction to the occult side of the world, especially the way of his ancestors, the mighty druids, he's read many books on this topic and he intends to find more.

As he falls into the realm of dreams he feels something quite odd, a dream that feels so real, yet unreal at the same time, as if it is a prophetic one...-

Opening his eyes he finds himself in an empty room, on the ground, darkness surrounds him making him unable to see, as he raises to his feet he runs his hands along the cold walls, eventually finding a handle, twisting it around to open the door.

Once the door was open a cold breeze strikes him, feeling the cold winter air on his naked skin, snow flakes falling into the dark room, touching his skin one by one. He gazes into the sudden light, and as his eyes start to percieve his surroundings he notices he's down an alley, the very scenery feels so familiar, yet he can't understand why... He shrugs and continues his path down the alley... Step by step the whole scenery, the alley, the door behind him, everything was twisted and out of picture, the skies turn brighter and the snowflakes turn golden, something wasn't right, maybe he's under the influence of something...

Turning his gazes from a place to another he turns for the door one final time, perhaps he should turn back, he notices a man walking out of the room, wearing a black hoodie... Jason screams for him... “Hey...! Where are we...?!”

The man keeps his head down, ignoring Jason as he approaches, fixing his gaze at him as he suddenly removes the hoodie, yet no eyes, nose, nor mouth can be seen, he had no face... was he death...? Is death faceless... and dirty?

Jason freaks out, his eyes turn bigger staring at him for a couple of seconds in dread eventually turning around to run, suddenly meeting him again, this time one foot closer... he bumbs into the faceless man... How could he teleport...? But that wasn't the biggest problem, with a swift move, in a blink of an eye he reaches for Jason's chest, it was a tender and quick touch at first, but in a matter of seconds blood can be seen under his clothing.... bleeding quickly and continously... he fell on his knees gazing at the man one more time as he turns around to walk away...

Everything turned dark...- there was nothing but an echoing voice could be heard, the language seemed unknown, yet so familiar to him... he could understand tho.... “Now that you know the Truth...- will you Awaken?”

He then wakes up all of the sudden the moment that sentence ends, he is sweating, this was no regular nightmare for sure, he felt something real about it, he lifts from his bed only to notice he couldn't hear the initial alarm and he's running late for his courses, he takes no time to waste, getting dressed and picking up his books to run downstairs...

Hearing his footsteps his mother yells for him...- “Jason! The breakfast is ready, you coming?!”

He stops for a second only to divert his sight down the hallway saying..- “I'm in a hurry mother! Perhaps when I'm back!”...- running outside only to hear her yelling...- “Okay dar..-”

He shuts the door close running for his car, twisting the key in the ignition and hit the gas to reach the university as fast as possible.

It's a record, he's reached the university within minutes given the fact that he lives quite far from it, was it luck to hit only green lights or the timing was perfect? That doesn't matter now, he picks up his backpack heading for the classroom to notice the course hasn't started yet, he takes a seat by his best friend discussing what they wrote in the past exam they had, they're expecting good results.

Many hours have passed and they're in their last tens of minutes of their last course, he finds himself unable to move all of the sudden, beginning to “hallucinate” he sees small lights, flying all over the room, touching each and every object and person in the room. He sees and hears things out of place, and it's a first now, is he going mad...? “Jason... Jasooooon” A voice could be heard echoing in the very room he's in, but everyone carries with their tasks, unable to hear nor see what Jason is currently witnessing in this very moment, the intensity of the voice is increasing... hearing his name countless of times... but the feeling shakes off the moment his best friend touches his shoulder...-

“Dude, you alright? You were staring at the table for a few minutes, I tried to wake you but I couldn't, 'till now”

“Yeah...” He frowns “... It's nothing, what about we hit the forest? I could use a walk”
“Sure thing dude!”

Half an hour later..-after running into every red light they could run into, and every traffic jam...- they finally arrive down in the forest.

They sit down on the grass and Jason reaches for his personal diary, beginning to write down.

January 24 1972.

“Well... I guess I haven't wrote in a while about my personal troubles, or in fact about an actual subject on occultism, now this is different, there's something happening to me, it all began with a dream, I don't know, is it the exhaustion, am I going crazy or what? It all went like this... I saw this man in my dreams, a man in a black hoodie, he was faceless...- I saw him down an alley where golden snowflakes fell... and the sky was brighter than usual... He touched me and I bled to death... Waking up in a dark place where I couldn't move, I could hear voices echoing in the dark place, telling me something about my so called... Awakening... and about Truth... who knows, this is weird.

But things got way weirder! About half an hour ago at classes I once again felt I couldn't move, there were lights flying all over the place, touching each and every person in the room, I could hear voices again, they were calling my name... what is going on? I felt like everything is so real, is it pure madness or things are real? We'll see about that.”

He closes his diary and gazes up the hill where a man in a black hoodie sits, is he faceless like the other? He stares down at Jason as small bulbs of light float around him and an eagle sits on his shoulder.

Jason's eye widen, raising to his feet and facing his friend...”Hey, I'll be back in a bit.” then he goes uphill hearing his friend yelling... “Okay! Be careful!”

It took no more than five minutes to reach the top of the hill where he sits alone, he looks around himself only to see that very man appear behind him, stabbing him in the chest, in the very spot in those dreams, he gets a glimpse at him before he collapses to the ground, unconscious, he saw his face this time...-

A few moments later Jason wakes up in a place similar to the hill, yet much more alive, there were much brighter lights and twisted landscapes all over... but on top of those he could see the birds above him, the animals around him... all shinning brilliantly as if they were spirits, and there was the man, standing tall above him, staring at him before he decides to finally speak...

“You must be Jason Dawnwood... am I right?”

“Who...-” he doesn't get to finish his question, a zap of electricity hits him, he nods at the man...”Y...yes.”

“Good... I am Archdruid Doyle, I've noticed your passion and your capabilities, and I wish to see what you're capable of for real... Now tell me...-”

“Listen to the man, boy, he's telling the truth... I am your subconcious, speaking loud so you can both hear...you must choose, remain here and die... or open your eyes to magick, to the world of spirits... Will you Awaken...?”

“A.. awaken...? I guess....”

All of the sudden a brilliant light engulfs them both, especially Jason, a green light covers him, healing his wounds... finding himself down the hill, with the man sitting next to him on his butt.

“So... Jason, now that you chose your path, will you follow me to teach you? If you do not... darker forces might come after you, and your family, you will all perish, and believe me, it won't be me to send them, they will come themselves to capture those who have your will... who can hear the voice of the Gods and the Mother Gaia, those who can reach the lands of spirit and flesh, capable of shaping them with they will.”

“Does this mean I'm a druid...? Like the ones in my books?”

“No... not yet, and not quite like in those books, you'll see eventually, but for now forget everything you've read, the world is a far different place than the one in those “commercial” books you're reading, I'll teach you, and so will the Gods and their servants.”

“Very well...”

Their hands meet in a blink of an eye, both of them suddenly vanishing from the reality of flesh, reaching the lands of spirit where they started a journey of both wisdom and spirituality, and in the coming months making Jason capable of becoming a druid.

((I'm writing this again from the very beginning to fit my character, every chapter I've wrote will be rewrote))
