"Dedicated to Order with Steadfast Loyalty and Unrivalled Valour."
The applications for the Red County Sheriff's Department are now officially open, read on further to find out how you can get to join or re-join the force if you have already been a part of it before.
New Cadets now have a salary of two hundred dollars!
The recruitment process is as following, if you wish to become a part of this department, you have to either go to the station and ask a member of the staff to hand you an application form which you can later fill in and mail to the Department, or, if you wish to apply in the comfort of your home, you can access our website (RedCountySD.com) and fill an application online, then mailing it to RedCountySD@msgnow.com
. The application will then be reviewed by a member of the Training and Recruitment Team or by High Command, if you have passed this first stage or recruitment you will proceed on to the next, which is 'the Interview'.
After your application has been processed, and accepted you will be called by the Department at the phone number which you filled in on the application, in case no phone number was provided, you are to present yourself to the department and ring the bell to inform someone you are there and are available for an interview at that moment. You will then be pat down according to the protocol and led to an office where the interviewing officer will ask you several questions to evaluate your potential, after the interview has come to an end you will be asked to wait for a reply - the interviewing officer will consult the results and his opinions with others and in about forty-eight (48) hours, you will be contacted with an answer, either by mail or by cellphone and will proceed to the next stage in the recruitment process.
If you have successfully passed your interview, you are now part of the department, not fully though, you are issued the rank of Cadet which is a member of the department that has to go through the Academy to complete the recruitment process. If you have come this far, you will be appointed an uniform, according equipment and an instructor. The instructor will regularly educate you about the methods of the department and everything else you need to know, at the end of the Academy, you will be issued an examination form which if completed correctly, will lead you to becoming a full addition to the department, a Deputy Sheriff Class One.
Although, before proceeding to the first step in the recruitment process, you can ask the officers of the Department to offer you several ride alongs, this will give you an insight on how the work in the department is done, they will also explain you several things, which might as well give you an advantage over other applicants by means of knowledge.
To break it down, what you need to do is as follows:
- Take ridealongs with officers of the Department.
- Fill out an application and mail it to the Department or send a virtual one to the Department's email (RedCountySD@msgnow.com).

You mustn't have a serious criminal record, this includes crimes such as Battery, Assaulted, Attempted Murder [these are not to be overlooked], crimes such as Reckless Driving and Speeding if you have been booked for, can be overlooked if the recruitment officer and the High Command agree to it, but a completely clean criminal record is recommended.
You must not have any mental or physical disease that can mantain you from performing your duty in the Department, this meaning that if you have problems such as limping with one leg or having a phobia of blood, firing a gun and such you should not apply, however, if these are temporary (achieved them in a recent accident) and not permanent, you can still apply.
It is also recommended that you are mentally readyfor the duty you will perform in the Department, you will need to shoot others at times, and if you think and/or know you are not ready for such, you should not apply, although the Department offers mental training for the officers during the Academy, if it is something that can not be overcome, then you should not apply.
