Fortitude and sunlight damage
« on: October 08, 2016, 05:34:35 AM »
Vampires and Hybrids are able to endure the sunlight damage for a certain amount of time where they won't lose HP and there wonít be any visible special effect indicating they are suffering from sunlight exposure. The amount of time they can endure is defined primarily by their Generation then by their Stamina. (E.g., A 10th Generation Vampire with 2 Stamina will be able to endure the sunlight damage for 4 minutes and 30 seconds while a 6th Generation Vampire with 4 Stamina will be able to endure sunlight damage for 1 minute. After that the smoking skin special effect will show up as well as the health loss.)

Fortitude
As a house rule the Discipline of Fortitude can grant absolute sunlight resistance to Vampire and Hybrids. The effect is now passive meaning you donít need to spend Blood Points or activate the Discipline scriptly. The lower the Generation is the higher the Fortitude level is needed to achieve the immunity. (E.g., Vampires of Generation 10th and higher with Fortitude of rating 3 or higher are immune to the sunlight damage while a Vampire of 6th Generation needs Fortitude 7 to achieve the immunity.)

  • Vampires of 5th Generation need Fortitude rank 8 or higher to be able to resist the sunlight damage.
  • Vampires of 6th Generation need Fortitude rank 7 or higher to be able to resist the sunlight damage.
  • Vampires of 7th Generation need Fortitude rank 6 or higher to be able to resist the sunlight damage.
  • Vampires of 8th Generation need Fortitude rank 5 or higher to be able to resist the sunlight damage.
  • Vampires of 9th Generation need Fortitude rank 4 or higher to be able to resist the sunlight damage.
  • Vampires of 10th Generation and higher (11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, etc.) need Fortitude rank 3 or higher to be able to resist the sunlight damage.

Fortitude Penalty While Under Direct Sunlight
While exposed to direct sunlight, the Undead's Fortitude rating is lowered by exact the amount of points she needs to soak the sunlight damage listed above. (The dice used for reflexively soaking sunlight damage are no longer available to the Fortitude Discipline user. E.g.: A 12th Generation Vampire with Fortitude 4 can only use 1 die of Fortitude while directly exposed to sunlight because 3 dice are being reflexively and constantly used for resisting sunlight damage.)
Spoiler for E.g.: 9th Generation Gangrel exposed to direct sunlight:
