Vampire Application

General questions:

1. What comes to your mind when the word vampire arises? What is a vampire in a human view and what is it from a vampire's own view? How different are standard folklore and World of Darkness vampires?

Back then, when I hear the word "vampire", I would relate them to Dracula, bloodsuckers, Edward and the Cullen family from twilight, etc. But ever since I read about this new version of vampires made by White Wolf from the Classic World of Darkness, I would now start to think about undead who have different yet powerful disciplines or abilities and would depend on their store of blood (or vitae as vampires would call it) to live. These vampires have very tough bodies that even punches, kicks, and bullets directed anywhere on their body except the head deal lesser damage than they would to normal people.

A vampire in a human's view is what I thought what they were before I read the Vampire: The Masquerade. Basically, they would think vampires are monsters and bloodsuckers who are cursed with agelessness and the need of blood. A vampire in a vampire's own view would depend on their own. They may consider themselves as monsters, others may consider themselves as gods, others may consider their life a blessing, others may consider their life a curse. To sum it all up, a vampire, from a vampire's own view, may consider him or her a sibling, united by their father, Caine.

Vampires from the folklore differ from the vampires from the Classic World of Darkness. Firstly, folklore says that vampires meet death only when a stake is directed to them at the heart. CWoD vampires say that a stake on the heart would only paralyze them. Secondly, folklore says that the first vampire is Vlad the Impaler(dunno really, many folklore have their own history). CWoD vampires say that the first vampire was the cursed Caine after he murdered his brother Abel.

2. What kind of consequences could possibly arise were a vampire be outed to the general public? What sort of action would be taken by various governments and the people? For this reason, do you think vampires should take the chance of coming out clean or should they rather stay hidden?

Oblivion. For vampires, at least. And possibly for humanity's existence too. If a vampire would reveal her true identity, she betrays the Masquerade, she betrays the entire existence of her race. Long ago, humans from the early ages fear the monsters they call "witches" and would stake them and burn them in front of the people. Vampires have feared humanity too, but now, in a new world of ignorance and stewpidity, those acts of their ancestors would now be considered as stories. But within those flaws, they also have merits. They may be ignorant and stupid, but they are too hostile and too advanced in new technology. After the World Wars, humanity was introduced to the new technology of weaponry, firearms, and nuclear explosives. These new techs aren't as less painful as being burned on a stick, they sting. Even one or two shotgun blows on the vampire's head would torpor him. Now that humanity have these tech, but they still aren't aware about the monsters lurking with them, vampires are now more careful. They feed privately, leave no marks, and take their exit.

Humans, ignorant as they are, would always consider everything and everyone they don't know hostile. If an unauthorized armed aircraft enters the White House area, the aircraft has to expect that they must be questioned about their identity lest they risk themselves getting bombed up. If they would see an alien, CIA or NASA, whatever, would bring that being with them, experiment with it, question it, and everything they want to do with it. If humanity would gain much knowledge about the vampiric race, they would do everything in their power to make that race extinct before their own race is extinct.

To sum it all up, vampires should NOT reveal themselves to humanity. And this is neither an offer nor a request.

3. What are The Traditions? Who enforces them and how do the vampires view it?

The Traditions are like the set of laws vampires HAVE to follow in order to preserve their existence. In a political view, the Traditions is like the constitution. Thing is that these Traditions are older than any other current constitution in every nation. These Traditions were created by the ancient members of the Camarilla to avoid the upcoming Gehenna in every possible way. Or at least to slow it done. Or maybe just to prepare for it. These Traditions are enforced by the Camarilla, specifically the Prince. Any kindred witness of a violation of any of the Traditions is required to report it to the Prince or any trusted representative of the Camarilla. Once the Prince gives the order, the Sheriff is to hunt the violator down...and kill him, to serve an example to other kindred who wish to violate any other Tradition.

The Traditions are viewed as very important to the kindred of the Camarilla...and possibly the Anarch too, but its most hated nemesis is the Sabbat. The Sabbat are mindless killing machines who train their neonates and even encourage them to do the act of diablerie, just to prepare them for the upcoming Gehenna.

(( I'll not bother the reviewer by posting every Tradition. I've applied and posted and explained these traditions twice, in every vampire application of mine. I'll add them, though, if required. ))

4. What is a Clan?

A clan is the lineage of a vampire. Each clan has their own three disciplines. Although sometimes not unique, it helps them with their duty as a clan. Their are thirteen clans, in total. To be honest, back then, I thought every founder of the thirteen clans were the childer of Second Generation, but ever since I started reading the clanbook of Tremere, I realized only twelve clans have their founder as a childe of the Second Generation. The clan Tremere is the only exception. Tremere, the founder not the clan, was self-created through magic. Tremere was the former founder of the House Tremere from the Order of Hermes, but he turned his self to a vampire while looking and testing his knowledge in magic to give him immortality. He couldn't find any other answer but being one with the vampires, for vampires, and only vampires, have a big assurance of immortality. But yes, he was a third generation vampire, but only through diablerie.

5. What is a Bloodline?

A bloodline differs from a clan in many ways. Bloodline founders, if any, are less likely to be the childer of second generation vampires. Some were created through rituals(?) like the Gargoyle, made by the Tremere. Some bloodlines are created from a flawed embrace somehow. Some bloodlines were created through the diablerie of the antediluvian like the True Brujah. Some bloodlines have their own unique disciplines as well, ones that the clans don't possess.

6. What sort of process is an embrace? What's diablerie? Why are both of these practices so commonly heard about? What's the view on these two?

The embrace is the reproduction of vampires. In order to create a vampire, one has to drain a mortal's blood, deplete it till it's nothing, and replace it with a bit of their own, passing the curse (or blessing) of Caine to them. Embracing a vampire without the consult of the domain's Prince is a violation of the Masquerade, thus risking the sire and her childe on a blood hunt. Diablerie is one heck of an act for suicidal vampires. The process requires full concentration on the act. The slightest distraction can end the diablerie process. Diablerie is the only way one can permanently downgrade her generation (of course, there's Blood of Potency from the Path of Blood 3, but that's just temporary effect). Diablerie is like cannibalism for vampires and is considered the worst act or sin a vampire can commit and will always result to a blood hunt.

7. What are the vampire generations? How far do they stray from the original? What are these generations? Does generation measurement exist within the society?

Vampire generations define how far a kindred is from her father, Caine. The childer of Caine, the closest ones to him, reign from the second generation. The childer of the second generation became the third generation vampires. Caine wanted to stop there, he wanted to stop the production of his own kind, but the third generation wanted their own fruit as well. Once a vampire commits the act of Embrace, her fruit becomes a generation lower than her sire. If a vampire commits the act of Diablerie, her generation rises by one, as his blood draws him closer to Caine. Generations are basically not a "thing" in the character world. They base their power on their age. An elder would reign from two hundred to a thousand years old.

8. What are the two notable Anarch Revolts? What sort of effect did they have upon the vampires?

The first notable anarch revolt happened during the middle ages. The number of neonates rapidly decreased as elders sacrificed them to the inquisition of hunters. A debate then occured in the council, started by a Brujah, Patricia. Patricia wanted to end the suffering of the neonates but the Ventrue council denied it. She boycotted the council and formed a small group of rebels who she led to Hardestadt and diablerized him. This small group Patricia formed is now known as the Anarch Movement.

The second anarch revolt started during the French Revolution when the Anarchs saw great opportunity to claim France. When the French Revolution came to an end, the Camarilla disturbed the Anarchs by settling in France, making the Anarchs under their command. Some of the Anarchs moved to Los Angeles. When the Prince knew about the migrating Anarchs, he ignored them. And by time, the anarch population grew and grew. When it was too many for the Prince, he ordered an execution to all Anarch members. Before the Camarilla could wipe out the Anarch community, the Anarchs have already executed the Prince, giving them a glorious victory.

Character Story:(Min. 300 words; Max. 3000)

Spoiler for Lilith:
"Linus?! Ugh..."

"Oliver, it's time for lunch! I cooked you your favorite, and I doubt you won't like it," Lilith shouted.

Lilith just finished reading a few books of her interest. She was introduced to the world of hedge magic by an acquaintance as she was determined to learn the ways of the world a lot couldn't see. Lilith, being a quick learner as she is, started to advance quickly in the occult world, but what she didn't know that this knowledge would soon advance more further than she had ever expected.

Lilith had a happy life. A job that supports her psychologically and financially, a family who loves her, and a damn good mentor. However, the cause of one's happiness ends to their cause of sorrow, just as how it happened with Jesus and Judas.

It all started on Lilith's mentor who started to become pale, sometimes unresponsive, and acted weird. Lilith tries to act normal about it, act like nothing happened, but as what students of science and magic really are, she became curious. After days of asking, Troy, Lilith's mentor, explained it to her, but Lilith didn't understand a word. On her days of learning the occult, she was taught lies about the other supernaturals, stating that they were only born and reproduced from a curse. Troy finally had his moment of truth with his student, but also passed the curse to her. Instead of actually making her one, he made Lilith drink his blood. Confused but obedient, Lilith felt the weird addictive pleasure of Troy's blood and started to have more deeper connections to him.

It's been quite a few days since Lilith's ineffable feelings towards Troy started. She felt a stronger and more intimate bond with Troy than Linus, her own husband. She even thought about leaving Linus and Oliver for Troy, but Troy told her that it would be a bad idea for both Lilith and him. Their days of mastering, or at least learning, linear magic were over, but this act created a new goal for the both of them.

Wherein Troy was Lilith's previous mentor, both would become students under the guidance of another mentor, Sofia.

It's been a few days since Lilith's son and husband were missing. She worries about both of them, but Sofia just told her that her son is with a reliable parent and that being sad would just distract her from things she has to learn.

So far, Lilith, with the help of her mentor Sofia, has concluded that Troy and Sofia are what most people call "vampires". But not the regular ones we all thought. Sofia and Troy were part sorcerers, part vampires. Sofia explained the history of the clan, how they are different from the other sorcerers they know, and how they use the power of the blood within them to cast these magics.

After a few months of learning and practicing a path of Thaumaturgy, Troy and Sofia were satisfied in Lilith's performance. Sofia, with Troy's support, decided that "it was time". She attacked Lilith unexpectedly and drained all of her blood from her. She then took out a knife and sliced a small part of her palm. As blood started to come out from her palm, Sofia directed them to drop in Lilith's mouth.

The trio, Lilith, Troy, and Sofia, were on their way to give the Inner Council of Seven a visit, just as how traditions are. Sofia introduced Lilith to them, her behavior, her knowledge, her mental capacity, and her history, specifically her limited knowledge in linear magic and her current knowledge of the thaumaturgical Path of Conjuring. When the council questioned Sofia why she chose that specific path as Lilith's primary, she told them that it was her own primary too and was easier to teach.

After the quick introduction of Lilith, the council proceeded to the Transubstantiation of Seven and binded Lilith to them.

The sixteenth century has passed. New century, new Lilith. Troy has left the small group, but Lilith and Sofia stayed. There were still a lot of things Sofia had to know, specifically about being and acting like a vampire.

Been two months since Lilith was Embraced, been a week since Sophia left Lilith on her own with her last warning on keeping the Masquerade. She leaves her hometown in search of Oliver and Linus.

After years of searching for her family, Lilith could only assume they were dead. She moved on, knowing that it was a hopeless and useless goal anyway. She now has a new life. An undead life. An immortal life. She cares little for any of them now. Bored and out of options, she started mastering her primary path which is to conjure things from thin-air.

It has been years since Lilith has forgotten about Oliver and Linus, but as fate would have it, they would meet again. This unfortunate event transpired during the mid-17th century. While Lilith was travelling in search for answers, she saw Oliver spying on someone. Thing that shocked her was that Oliver was still a kid. After all these years, he didn't age since she last saw him. She was about to approach, but a woman approached him first. Lilith decided to wait and see who Oliver was spying on. To her surprise too, it was Linus. Just like Oliver, Linus didn't age as well. She decided to see how this would turn out, as she wouldn't want to destroy any of their "secret plans".

After a hour of spying on Oliver who was spying on Linus, she heard a loud bang that came from Linus's area. She saw Oliver stand up and tackled Linus. It looked like they were having a fight. Lilith, being the mother of Oliver and wife of Linus, quickly ran to them and tried to stop the fight, but before she could arrive, she stopped when Oliver had took Linus down with a sharp knife before his chest. Lilith was confused and shocked at the same time. She noticed that both Oliver and Linus were supernaturally strong and had quick reflexes. Wishing to keep her immortality, she decided to leave the scenario. Having little to none affection for any of them, Lilith didn't feel any emotional emotions about that scene, but was a bit glad that her family still lives.

Lilith couldn't not remember that scenario of violence between her son and his father. Worried about them, she starts to secretly follow them wherever they go, but she can only find Linus, not Oliver. Apparently, Linus has turned to the evil Sabbat traditions for a very long time. She unconsciously trains her other disciplines while she spies Linus, such as commanding Linus's guards with a locked gaze, hearing their conversations and seeing their actions from within a mile, and the like. While she follows Linus, she also uses her free time to practice her thaumaturgical paths, read books about thaumaturgy rituals, and discover new thaumaturgical paths through research.

After two centuries of following Linus, getting every information about the Black Hand, knowing about his previous attempts on Oliver's assassinations, she finally knew why Oliver tried to assault and possibly threaten Linus.

During the early 19th century, while she watched the Americans fight the World Wars, she met Oliver again, spying on a group of people. We locked gazes for about half a minute before he ran to continue spying. Lilith was sure Oliver had recognized her, but she was also sure she meant nothing to him right now and that spying those men were as important as meeting a mother for three centuries.

Two World Wars have passed, yet Lilith hasn't received any information about Oliver. She kept on spying Linus till 1960 before she left that mission to focus on Oliver while practicing her disciplines too. It was then at 1980 when Lilith, still on his mission to find Oliver, encountered a being she wasn't familiar with yet. An angel or a prophet of the fates who appeared to be a friend of Oliver, Madison. Madison told Lilith about her relationship with Oliver and her past experiences with him before her previous mortal "host" died. In turn, Lilith told her that she was Oliver's mother and who she was now. Both agreed on a united goal, to find Oliver, but they weren't together that long. Lilith said that she was better off on her own. On mid-1999, Lilith hasn't found Oliver yet but heard news about a kid alone in the small town of Palomino. Normally, Lilith would say that this was just another kid, but Lilith's desperation grew higher each day and would say yes to about anything if it has anything to do with Oliver.

She manages to reach Palomino before sunrise and finds haven in a nearby motel.

Out of Character:

1.What kind of powers are you allowed to use in public? What stops you from using them?

As a Tremere with the powers of Thaumaturgy, Auspex, and Dominate, Auspex is the only discipline I can freely use in public. Super-dooper hearing and seeing is one thing I can do without troubling the Masquerade. Although, obviously, suspicions would rise when people see someone staring in the forest just to find out that that someone is looking straight deep into the forest, hearing and seeing no mortal ear or eye could hear and see. Discerning auras doesn't build up suspicion...a bit, but continuous staring at someone does make you look like a psycho or a weirdo. Other Auspex powers don't build up much suspicion, although going astral form in public, wherein it would collapse your body into a coma state till your astral goes back to your body does start suspicion and might endanger the masquerade once people figure shit out. Dominate isn't good for the public as it builds up a lot of suspicion. You'd be damned about Thaumaturgy building up suspicion. Hermit freak chanting shit, conjuring things outta nowhere, putting people on fire, all that. So, yeah, I can use any power I want, considering no one, at least not a mortal, is watching.

2.Someone has discovered you. He's planning on making a statement within a week, you have all the time to prepare. What do you do? Consider consequences of every sort of action. Putting down more than one option increases your chances of getting accepted.

I'd go from the most safe option to the most dangerous and risky one. First off, convincing. Nothing harmful about a little chit-chat. But usually, this doesn't work. Next step, Dominate. Third power of Dominate allows one to rewrite the memories of a subject. And fortunately, my clan, Tremere, has access to that discipline. Subject dares not to look in your eyes? Hell, give him your blood. Nothing more successful than making your enemy your servant. Doesn't take your blood, threatening has always been the answer since centuries. Knowing that your a vampire, your subject sure doesn't want him or his family, or anyone close to him die just because he wants to reveal a petty secret. Last resort would be killing. The most risky and most dangerous one. Might even lower your Humanitas.

3.An officer walks up to you and tells you to stay put, you are a wanted individual. In the struggle you both shed a good amount of blood, what could possibly happen in this scenario and how further can you avoid these dangerous encounters?

Gifted by the discipline of Dominate, I can just rewrite his memories. But that would be second-to-last option. His partner might build up suspicion. Last option would be evading them. First option would cooperate. Get a ticket, go to jail, it's worth protecting the masquerade. No one's pulling shit just because someone asked you to pay one or two hundred dollars. And besides, my character is a bit old-school. She doesn't know how to drive, doesn't want to know. She'd rather take a taxi or something to get there. Or, with Movement of the Mind, flight. But then again, masquerade. Basically, what I'm trying to say, is that I'm sure I'm not gonna be in one of those list where they put a silly face of you and your name, then every local person around you is against you. But if this ain't a vehicle pursuit or speeding, and I'm just arrested for assault, yeah, I can go to jail for that. Heck, I've been living three centuries, a few years in jail ain't a thang. Although, like around fifty years in it, and I look like I didn't age, suspicion builds up. So I'll try my best not to get caught.

4.You mutter around town and notice a rather viscous looking hairy beast with claws stretching out of his arms. What could it possibly be and what could you possibly do about this?

Possibly a gangrel shapeshifter, a werewolf, an abomination, a demon with the lore of beast, a changeling pooka, whatever it is, it won't kill without a damn good reason. Oh, exclude werewolves and possibly abominations there, they're too attached to Gaia and hate "Wyrm" minions. Anyway, if it's not a Gaian warrior, pretty sure it's harmless. Unless you did something to it or anyone close to it, then one can run or one can be fucked. What I'm trying to say here is that no one's that much of a maniac to shapeshift into a beast and attack people without a reason. Just stay cool, politely greet, and if it attacks, try to run. Tremere are only good at rituals and magic, that's our weakness. We may not have wards like them mages(or at least none that I found), but we have rituals that may cause your life. Oh, Lure of Flames, one heck of a path.

5.You've been at the game for quite a while now. You are walking down a dark alley with your partner and three thugs come out of the shadowy corner, aiming their mundane weaponry at you. Should you be scared?

I'm walking down a dark alley with a partner. My reaction would depend who the partner is. If he's a vampire too, hell it would be fun. Three thugs against two immortals. But if it's just a mere mortal, where this would be a rare occasion, then I'll act accordingly, fear them like they do. For the sake of the Masquerade, I'd do anything.

6.Considering your bloodline or clan, what sort of job would you be good at? Make a priority job and a side job in case you need one.

Not sure. I mean Tremere, with the Auspex, Dominate, and Thaumaturgy, isn't much of an outside-guy. We may like to be in our havens for a while, practice our paths, chant some rituals, rather than be with some lame party. But if it's required, for financial purposes, I can go for street performer. Considering my main path would be Path of the Conjuring, I can become a street magician. I'm pretty sure this won't trouble the Masquerade, since, for mere mortals, it's just a "magic trick" to trick your eyes.

Player information:

1.For how long have you been playing on Vampires, Werewolves and Humans roleplay?

Based on my profile, I've joined since August 2016, but there was inactivities since. I remember my first in game name. Mark Seaside, hence the Seaside forum name.

2.Make a list of your current and past characters.

Emily Aldrin - Inactive

Nicholas Grey - Semi Active till I get a response on the demon application of mine

Oliver Whitestone - Rest in Peace. CK'ed

Phoebe Anderson - Hitting pause for a while.

3.Do you understand that by taking part of this race, you can be changed by the race moderators (or even admins) for the most simple reasons? If you are to apply and get accepted, you are to follow the race rules to the fullest extent and upon reaching zero masquerade points, lose your character. Have you read all of this and understood what's your part?

I understand that admins can withdraw my race for the most simple reasons. I understand that I must abide with the server rules, vampire house rules, and even forum rules to my fullest extent to avoid a jail or an admin record. I understand that I must not blow my cover as a vampire as to avoid reaching zero masquerade points, and I understand once I have zero masquerade points, I will lose my character.

4.Post a screenshot (embedded with  code, no links) of your admin record and activity (include each personal account):

Dropped activity this month since school was about to start and I had no characters to play on, following the CK of Oliver Whitestone.

Spoiler for Oliver Whitestone:

Spoiler for Emily Aldrin:

Spoiler for Nicholas Grey:

Spoiler for Phoebe Anderson:

5.If there is anything you would improve/change regarding the vampire race, what would it be?

Too much vampires, less humans, I guess. No man to feed from, really stinks to depend on packs that cost 45 or 90 in game dollars.

Some of the answers are wrong, there's grammar mistakes. I had hoped the story might've done you justice, but there was no redemption there either. It's monotone, the important parts are rushed, some of it is inaccurate from a historical standpoint...

Frankly, I'm leaning towards denial. Your only leverage is a clean admin record and good activity... I also doubt you're knowledgeable enough to roleplay a Tremere Ancillae, prove me wrong.

I'll give you a test in-game in a few days, if you do really well this will be accepted as 10th generation.
Otherwise you can re-apply in 7 days with a better application.

Your call.

Although hurtful, I, too, am doubting myself with playing as an ancillae. I'd give a shot on the test.

Denied. You've failed the test.
