Vampire Application

General questions:

1. What comes to your mind when the word vampire arises? What is a vampire in a human view and what is it from a vampire's own view? How different are standard folklore and World of Darkness vampires?
A vampire to me is one who is no longer living and it's only sustenance is blood.  They are given immortality as a vampire and cannot be killed by time alone.  They are considered to a danger to people who believe in vampires due to the fact that they feed off of their blood.  I feel that what my mind comes to when I think of a vampire is what a humanís view would be in regards to what they think a vampire is, but I think a vampireís view on itself is one where they realize that they have powers that no mortal could dream of having, whether it be the ability to have superhuman levels of strength, the ability to manipulate mortals with ease, and much more.  As for how different the standard folklore of vampires are compared to WoD vampires, WoD expands upon the idea of vampires and covers nearly every aspect of vampires that someone might ask while standard folklore only talks about very specific instances of what a vampire is, along with having misconceptions about vampires.  For example, disciplines arenít a thing with folklore vampires compared to WoD.  Things like Generations isnít something that exists in folklore and even the way vampires are created can widely vary compared to WoD vampires where they are simply embraced.  Things like garlic will not affect vampires in the slightly and is simply a myth as is with running water.  These are just a few of the many differences that separate folklore and WoD vampires.

2. What kind of consequences could possibly arise were a vampire be outed to the general public? What sort of action would be taken by various governments and the people? For this reason, do you think vampires should take the chance of coming out clean or should they rather stay hidden?
If a vampire were to prove to the general public that they were a vampire, it could cause a great amount of trouble for not only the vampire alone but vampire society as a whole.  People would start to form groups to find vampires and governments would possibly create organizations that handle with eliminating vampires all around the world.  As for this reason, I feel a vampire should stay hidden and not let the public know for not only their own sake but to keep the vampire race from going extinct.  When it comes to the consequences that would related to the vampire from vampire society, they can always expect a punishment no matter what from the Prince.

3. What are The Traditions? Who enforces them and how do the vampires view it?
The First Tradition:
The Masquerade
Thou shall not reveal thy true nature to those not of the Blood.
Doing such shall renounce thy claims of Blood.

The first tradition is to prevent any kindred from showing their true self to humans and to keep their powers and abilities hidden.  Itís essentially the core of The Masquerade in terms of preserving the vampire race.

The Second Tradition:
The Domain
Thy domain is thine own concern.
All others owe thee respect while in it.
None may challenge thy word while in thy domain.

The second tradition explains that anyone who enters a domain is to respect the word of the Prince who controls that domain and are to not question their word or authority whether they are demanding or liberal with their authority of the domain.

The Third Tradition:
The Progeny
Thou shall only Sire another with the permission of thine Elder.
If thou createst another without thine Elderís leave, both thou and thy Progeny shall be slain.

The third tradition allows kindred to embrace a mortal if they get the permission.  Depending on the domain the kindred is in, they may need to request permission from the Prince, an Elder of their own clan, or their own sire.  Should they do it without permission, both the Sire and mortal will be killed.

The Fourth Tradition:
The Accounting
Those thou create are thine own children.
Until thy Progeny shall be Released, thou shall command them in all things.
Their sins are thine to endure.

The fourth tradition explains that a Sire is responsible for their Childe until they are let out on their own.  Until this point, any action that the Childe does during this time will be the Sireís responsibility, meaning the Sire could easily be punished for something their Childe did because of not teaching them how to operate in vampire society within an acceptable way.

The Fifth Tradition:
Honor one anotherís domain.
When thou comest to a foreign city, thou shall present thyself to the one who ruleth there.
Without the word of acceptance, thou art nothing.

The fifth tradition explains that when entering a foreign domain, a vampire is to present him/herself to the Prince who rules the domain.  They are to respect the Princeís choice whether they allow them to roam their domain or to leave it.  How the Prince operates under their domain determines what they will do when a foreign vampire enters a Princeís domain.

The Sixth Tradition:
Thou art forbidden to destroy another of thy kind.
The right of destruction belongeth only to thine Elder.
Only the Eldest among thee shall call the Blood Hunt.

The sixth tradition explains that kindred are not to hurt another of their kind in normal situations.  If the elders of a domain decide to call a Blood Hunt, the vampire whoís targeted by the Blood Hunt are to be killed by other vampires as punishment for a very serious offence.

4. What is a Clan?
A Clan is a group of kindred that share common characteristics with each other based off of their heritage.  Their blood can be traced back to an Antediluvian that founded the clan.  Each clan has three disciplines that they inherit along with a weakness that is passed on to kindred who are embraced by a clan member.  There are thirteen clans that have survived since their creation, but there are others that have been destroyed completely or turned into bloodlines due to certain circumstances.  The types of clans can vary in terms of how they act, what they wear, and what their general personality is.  A Ventrue would dress in very expensive clothing and would likely have a snob attitude in the presence of anyone who they felt were not on their level of prestige whilst a Toreador would have an affection for beauty and would act very human like compared to other vampires.

5. What is a Bloodline?

A bloodline is a linage of vampires that share common characteristics between each other, but arenít considered a clan (however bloodlines can exist within a clan).  They also inherit three disciplines and a weakness, but are much rarer to come across compared to a member of a clan.  There are some ways that a bloodline can be formed, such as the diablerie of an Antediluvian, a flawed Embrace, along with many others.  Expanding on bloodlines existing within clans, they sometimes donít qualify as a bloodline due to the fact that they still exist within a clan rather than being separate from a clan. There can also be a bloodline within a clan due to the fact that while they possess different disciplines, weaknesses and possibly different ideals than the clan theyíre apart of, they are still considered a part of the clan itself.

6. What sort of process is an embrace? What's diablerie? Why are both of these practices so commonly heard about? What's the view on these two?

The embrace is the process where a vampire turns a mortal into a vampire.  Itís done by draining the blood out of the human and transferring some of the vampireís blood into the humanís body, causing the humanís body to go through a transformation to turn them into a freshly created vampire.  Diablerie is when a vampire drains another vampire of their blood, killing them and (if the generation of the vampire is lower than the diablerist) lowering their generation by one.  Due to the practicesí role in vampire society, both of them are talked about quite often.  The views of embracing is something vampires encourage as itís their only means of ďreproductionĒ and thus something thatís apart of their undead lives, however it should only be done with the approval of the Prince of the domain theyíre in.  The views of diablerie however is considered one of the worst crimes a vampire can commit in the Camarilla, leading to the diablerist possibly getting killed for the act whilst vampires that are a part of the Sabbat donít hold diablerie as much of a crime at all.

7. What are the vampire generations? How far do they stray from the original? What are these generations? Does generation measurement exist within the society?

Vampire Generations is how far your blood is to Caine, the first vampire.  A vampireís generation is determined by their Sireís generation plus one (so if your Sire was a 10th generation vampire, you would be 11th generation).  Most vampires that are embraced in modern times are around 13th generation but there are some that have been 14th or even 15th generation.  A generation can also act for how long a vampireís been around for, but shouldnít be something you determine their age by.  A 13th generation vampire mightíve been around for a decade or two while a 6th generation vampire has been around for centuries, however, a low generation vampire does not mean theyíve been around as long as others of their generation.  You can use a vampireís generation to determine how powerful that vampire is as vampires of a lower generation are generally more powerful than vampires of a higher generation.  A lower
generation vampire can mean that the vampire has had more time with their undead life, allowing them to practice their powers and make them more powerful as time goes on.
8. What are the two notable Anarch Revolts? What sort of effect did they have upon the vampires?
The two anarch revolts refer to the instance where a large number of young vampires kill or diablerize the elders, either from the desire to gain power or to end the manipulation of the elders to other, younger Cainite.  The first anach revolt took place in the 15th century, the neonates didn't approve the actions of their elders who were sacrificing fledglings to the Inquisitors.  Eventually a Brujah spoke up in the Ventrue council, saying that the vampires should fight the mortals, the other members of the council thought that it would be better to hide and form rules, which are known as Camarilla today.  The Brujah left the council and joined the other rebellious neonates. And that is where it all started. After many fights the war devolved into a series of skirmishes. As word spread throughout Europe, all clans started considering the impossible notion of younger vampires banding together against their elders.  The second big Anarch Revolt took place in thr 20th century. Many of the remaining anarchs made their way to the U.S and from there on to the West Coast.  As Los Angeles quickly increased in prominence, the Camarilla established Don Sebastian as the Prince with the hope that he would curb the growing number of Anarchs in the region.  In 1944 he realized the full extent of rising problem in his city and ordered the elimination of Jeremy MacNeil. Instead of instantly rebelling, MacNeil leads the Anarchs in locating and studying the havens of the local Elders over a period of six weeks, and on December 21st, 1944, the Second Anarch Revolt began. The Prince was killed and the few elders that survived moved out of town.
Character creation:

Name: Amir Malik
Age: 26 (17 biological)
Embrace Age: 24 (17 biological)
Clan/Bloodline: Warrior Caste Assamite
Sect: Camarilla
Generation: 12th

Character Story:(Min. 300 words; Max. 3000)
Amir grew up in a slum in Saudi Arabia, He never got to know his father. He lived with his mother from the hand to the mouth until the day had come that should change his life for ever. At the age of 13 some gangsters assaulted the barracks Amir and his mother lived in. They killed his mother and took Amir with them alongside a lot of other children.

It turned out that these children were doomed to serve as child soldiers in the war against the Taliban. Many kids that were too weak or too young died within the first weeks. But Amir lived through it, in the hope for something to happen. When the group Amir was in reached a manageable size, a man with really dark skin took the reign over the group. He told the kids that they have the choice to be educated in the ways of killing in a special facility, or die right now. When Amir looked around him, almost everyone bursted into tears. Those who refused were killed right away which made those who wanted to refuse aswell accept in the end...

With time passing Amir learned that only one thing mattered in the end: Surviving. At the Assamite Training Facility the kids were educated in the ways of assasination and brainwashed into the religious dogmas of the Assamites. All that mattered was killing and the Path of Blood. Those who were too weak got executed and were tossed into unnamed graves dug by their fellow recruits.

Amir was part of the few children that survived the first phase of becoming a true Assamite, which resulted in them becoming ghouls, bound to their master's blood. 7 years of serving impended Amir. It was a time of killing and the lust after vitae. A simple system has burnt itself into Amir's mind. 'Kill to survive.'

After 7 years, it was time for the final exam. Amir only got a name and a picture of the person, but he never spent a single second thinking about giving up. He got so far, and he wanted to break the chains. Amir's skills to assassinate were put to the test. It didn't take long to locate the target, it was the son of a wealthy sheik. After effortlessly breaking through every form of security the family had, he faced the son of the sheik with his blood-soaked knife. The man begged for his life, but Amir didn't even hear it. All he thought of was to complete the order to...survive.

He cut the man's throat and went back to the facility. He received the embrace as a gift for completing his final exam. He spent the following years in Saudi Arabia before he moved to the U.S, in search of something new.

Out of Character:

1.What kind of powers are you allowed to use in public? What stops you from using them?
The only kind of powers allowed in public would be ones that didnít draw attention or have any visual effects that would not be considered normal or human, but it would be smarter to just not use powers in public whenever possible to avoid any potential problems that could result from using a discipline or power that is not human.  However, if a vampire had to use their powers in public for whatever reason, mental disciplines like Dominate or in my characterís case, Presence, could be used in front of mortals, but should be used with caution.  Something that can stop a vampire from using their powers in public that would expose them is if they are a part of the Camarilla, it would be a breach in The Masquerade and it would result in punishment.

2.Someone has discovered you. He's planning on making a statement within a week, you have all the time to prepare. What do you do? Consider consequences of every sort of action. Putting down more than one option increases your chances of getting accepted.
Murder is a clear solution to the problem, but the consequences that could come from that could land my character in deeper water than before if not planned carefully enough.  Another option could be to turn the person into a ghoul if he felt he needed a ghoul, it might not be the best option either due to the fact that the ghoul could still tell people about what they saw, even though they would risk their own life doing so.  An option that would more than likely be the best choice of action is to employ the help of another vampire who has enough practice in Dominate to simply erase any memory of my character or of the situation.

3.An officer walks up to you and tells you to stay put, you are a wanted individual. In the struggle you both shed a good amount of blood, what could possibly happen in this scenario and how further can you avoid these dangerous encounters?
In a situation like that, he could accidently break The Masquerade if he wasnít careful enough to hide any sign of being a vampire.  It could spiral out of control if the officer manages to subdue my character and was able to escape with this information to the world, along with my character being punished for it.  As for avoiding the dangerous encounters, either donít do anything that would attract an officerís attention or do what he needs to do out of sight of any law enforcement.

4.You mutter around town and notice a rather viscous looking hairy beast with claws stretching out of his arms. What could it possibly be and what could you possibly do about this?
It would most likely be a Werewolf, but it could also be any other Fera as long as they could fit the description.  Depending on the situation, if my character felt it could eliminate the beast without the need for help, he might wait to fight it when in a place that no others could see, otherwise he might get help from other kindred to deal with the problem at a better time.  While my character would likely not think about this aspect of the potential situation, if the beast happened to a be Garou of importance, it could result in increased violence among vampires and werewolves, leading to the chance of being exposed even higher.
5.You've been at the game for quite a while now. You are walking down a dark alley with your partner and three thugs come out of the shadowy corner, aiming their mundane weaponry at you. Should you be scared?
Yes, weapons can still be deadly to vampires if they happen to be powerful enough.  A baseball bat might not be something that would cause too much damage compared to a shotgun.  No matter how long youíve been around, if thereís someone with at least a shotgun, you and your partner should be concerned about the situation, if not scared for whatever reason.  In an instance like this where my partner and I were outnumbered, itíd be best to react as a human would and attempt to escape the situation in whatever way possible.
6.Considering your bloodline or clan, what sort of job would you be good at? Make a priority job and a side job in case you need one.
As primary job I would be a hitman, as secondary maybe bodyguard.
Player information:

1.For how long have you been playing on Vampires, Werewolves and Humans roleplay?
About a month now.
2.Make a list of your current and past characters.
Ragnar_Kvarforth, Amir_Malik
3.Do you understand that by taking part of this race, you can be changed by the race moderators (or even admins) for the most simple reasons? If you are to apply and get accepted, you are to follow the race rules to the fullest extent and upon reaching zero masquerade points, lose your character. Have you read all of this and understood what's your part?
4.Post a screenshot (embedded with  code, no links) of your admin record and activity (include each personal account):

5.If there is anything you would improve/change regarding the vampire race, what would it be? No.

The story's really poor, you should consider reading more on Clan Assamite before coming up with a new approach as to how you got embraced.

Much better than the previous one. Accepted as 11th Generation.
