This document provides information and application forms for APSD Recruitment.

About APSD Recruitment

The Department offers two main career tracks, with the possibility for advancement and specialization in each. The APSD makes an effort to recruit exceptional individuals with different skillsets, and we encourage you to apply for any position which appeals to you.

Sworn Personnel		Civilian Personnel
Sworn law enforcement officers of the APSD are tasked with maintaining law and order:		Civilian employees of the APSD are tasked with office-based work and other support functions:
Patrol Deputy Detective Deputy Special Operations Deputy		Human Resources Public Affairs Officer Investigative / Forensic Specialist

Note that most of the Department's personnel are Sworn law enforcement officers.

Requirements & Eligibility
To be eligible for any position within the APSD, all candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Be a legal U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident;
• Have a valid Driving License;
• Hold a valid Firearms License or equivalent Certification (at time of appointment);
• Be 18 or older;
• Be educated with at least a High School Diploma or equivalent;
• Have a clean Criminal Record, or written permission from the Sheriff

To join the APSD, the following OOC requirements also apply to all players:

• You must have at least 10 hours of playtime in the current month.
• You must also have a basic grasp of the server's systems and rules.
• Good proficiency in written English is required for all candidates. Voice communication is not necessary.
• A clean admin record is desirable and you may be denied if deemed to be unreliable or untrustworthy.

For Sworn positions, you will additionally need to be comfortable with participating in combat.
There are only a limited number of Unsworn positions available due to script considerations.

To be promoted beyond Deputy Cadet you will, after training, need to satisfy the following Character Sheet requirements:

• Law 1, Investigation 1, Drive 2, Firearms 2

For other positions, additional requirements may apply.

Due to script restrictions, you can only be invited to the APSD faction if you hold a valid Firearms License RPF. If you do not have one, you may still apply (especially for Civilian positions) but you will need to seek Admin assistance to be invited to the faction without. For all Sworn Deputy positions, a firearms license is a must and you will not advance to the Final Stage without one.

1. Application Stage
The APSD recruitment process starts with the Application Stage. Separate application forms can be found below for both Reinstatement and Recruitment, and will be responded to by a Department representative once received and reviewed.

• Use the relevant Application Form below (Reinstatement or Recruitment)
• Make sure you follow the instructions on the form and specify what kind of role you're applying for.
• Complete the Application Form truthfully and honestly.
• Submit your completed Application Form and await a response.

2. Interview Stage
Interviews will be conducted in-person at the Sheriff's Station at a pre-arranged time of convenience for both the candidate and a suitable Department representative. This will be confirmed to you in official correspondence from the Department after successfully passing the Application Stage.

• Arrive on time, or make sure to let us know of any changes to your availability in advance!
• Leave at home any legally owned weapons, or check them in at Reception when you arrive.
• Dress in proper attire (e.g. collared shirts/blouses; smart jeans or pants/skirts/dresses; dress shoes/heels or flats)
• Do not wear street/party clothes (shorts, leggings, hoodies, sandals, crop-tops, etc.) or bring bags or backpacks.
• Electronic devices will need to be switched off. No recording devices, cameras etc. are allowed.
• Note that you and your property may be searched prior to entry.

The interview itself will be recorded and retained for our records. It will take between 30-60 minutes, although reinstatement interviews may be quicker, and as a general guide will consist of:

• Follow up questions about the answers you gave on your application.
• Questions about your suitability for the role which you are applying for, or reinstating to.
• Questions about your integrity, honesty and character.

Some questions will require you to provide examples from your own life experience.
You will have the opportunity to optionally ask questions of your own after the interview.
You must answer all questions truthfully, but may decide to end the interview (and recruitment process) at any time.

3. Final Stage
If you successfully pass the Interview Stage, you will generally be made a conditional offer of employment (or reinstatement) within the Department. This will be conditional on the following basis:

• A successful background investigation/check.
• Validation of necessary permits/licenses.
• For some positions, completion of a fitness test or additional technical assessment.

Upon accepting the conditional offer of employment from the Department, you will have successfully completed the Recruitment Process and will be invited to begin your duties or training/orientation as appropriate.

If you feel more comfortable, you may forum/ingame direct message the APSD member who handles your application with information like your character's phone number instead of posting it on the form.

The in-game interview is not a test, it is simply a roleplay scene like any other. Your character's answers to the questions are important, but so too is their behavior, presentation and interaction with the interviewer.

• A firearms license RPF isn't required to start the recruitment process, but you'll need one by the end to be invited into the faction (this is a script requirement!)
