You Need To Apply
You need to apply for them in the character related applications section. If your character owns a Wonder or any other similar item that employs supernatural-based power effects (e.g.: Wonders, Fetishes, Talents (Not abilities), Relics, etc.) or doesn't employ supernatural-based power effect but it is considered valuable or rare (e.g.: Silver Great Sword, C4 Explosive, etc.).

Getting The Item From Another Player
If you're giving a certain item empowered with supernatural powers, you are obligated to make sure the player (User of the item) has all the knowledge regarding the item in question. You're directly responsible for the actions related to the item. Be aware of the consequences. Same rules apply if you're taking (forcefully) such item from someone roleplayly.

Cross-Game Items
If your character is receiving an item that was already applied and approved in the character related applications section and the item in question is a cross-game item (e.g.: The item was created with Lore of Forge which is from DtF game and your character is a Vampire (VtM game).) you're obligated to apply for the item again.

Information / Server Theme
« on: September 23, 2019, 18:53:32 PM »
VWH-RP is a server that is based on White Wolf World of Darkness multitude array of tabletop roleplaying games. What's contained within is the ability to roleplay a selection of supernatural beings with powers that are put on earth to either eradicate, extract or enlighten the world around them. The action takes place in the beautiful, small town of Angel Pine, north of the Mountain of Angels during the dawn of the new millennia, the turning of the wheels of ages. Don’t be fooled by the simplistic visage of our rural town, however, as you never know what’s lurking in the darkness, Regardless of the character, race or path is chosen, the story is driven by you… the player.

Angel Pine
The year is 2000, and while the cities are booming with activity on the dawn of a technologically driven era, Angel Pine is where the real action takes place. Create a character and dive in what appears to be a peaceful town, when in fact it's a facade for great powers who are constantly at each other's throats. Built on a mysterious network of caverns, the rural environment is anything but peaceful, and has long since drawn supernaturals who constantly vie for control. To the outside world, it's not worthy of a second glance, but those who heard the call know otherwise. Akin to a beacon, it has drawn both younglings and powerful elders alike. Respectable masters of unimaginable power who either staked everything to come here or have nothing to lose, Join up or bear witness as powerful factions strive to achieve their goals. The Angel Pine Emergency Services & Sheriff's Department do their best to limit casualties and hunt down supernaturals who get out of hand, all the while balancing their lives as hunters and men of the law.

Humans
Begin your journey as a mortal. Learn to navigate the World of Darkness with care and try to build your life amidst the chaos, surrounded by supernaturals you're unaware even exist. As a human, you can pick between the many supplements to give yourself an extra edge. Obtain Psychic Numina, True Faith or learn Hedge Magic. Pledge yourself to a Vampire master by becoming a Ghoul or enter a Faustian Pact with a Demon.

Vampire
Play a part in the Jyhad by becoming an undead predator. Make a name for yourself in the Kindred society. Achieve fame, resources and a safe haven for yourself. Pursue your goals by joining either of the numerous Clans and Bloodlines that fit your taste. Join up with the Camarilla, Anarch Movement or the Sabbat in your effort to topple the enemy factions. No one but you dictates how you spend your centuries of unlife.

Fera
Become the top of the food chain as a shapeshifter. Select one of the many shifting breeds available and throw your dice in a battle of the Trait. Ally under the banner of the Wyrm, Wyld or Weaver as a Werewolf(Garou), Werebear (Gurahl), Wereserpent (Nagah) or many of the other subspecies. Achieve renown and progress through the ranks of your Tribe, or explore the Umbral realms where the spirits dwell.

Hunter
Awaken to discover a world filled with monsters. Though still human, you've been selected by the Messengers to make a change in the world. Select one of the nine Creeds that will determine your approach to the monsters that plague society. Offer them salvation and put them on a path of redemption, or arm yourself with a stake and eradicate all that does not breathe. The hunt is all that matters to you.

Hybrid
Step foot in both the world of the shapeshifters and the undead society. Estranged and despised by both, you are an abomination that shouldn't exist. Born of a wolf but embraced to be a vampire, you are a mix of both. While this allows you to tap into both the powers of a Vampire and a Werewolf, neither side will take kindly to you. Struggle to make a haven that is yours, or builds alliances with the few people who can tolerate you.

Mage
Pursue the path of enlightenment as a magus. Pick between the Council of Nine Mystic Traditions, Technocratic Union or become an Orphan and rewrite creation according to your own whim. Fight for balance, personal interest or seed hatred and commit to being evil as a Nephandus. Tailor your own story and goals. Seek greater enlightenment and master the nine Spheres in an otherwise unforgiving world.

Changeling
Experience a world of wonders and magic as you play the mystical creatures of the dreaming capable of untold beautiful & destructive powers. Join the changelings for an experience of dream and creativity. They are one of the few kinds of fae capable of surviving in the modern world. They are connected to a spiritual dimension called the Dreaming, which draws its strength from human dreams.

Demon
Once an Angel in the Celestial Host, you are now merely an escaped demon from the Abyss, seeking shelter in someone else's body. You are a Fallen of the Seven Houses who rebelled against God in an attempt to awaken and save humanity. Tormented by your prison, you must now face the future with care, knowing that the Abyss is calling for your return. Side with one of the five factions and pursue your goals as an immortal

Guides & Tutorials / Experience Point Gain Way (Farmer Vs. Applicant)
« on: September 23, 2019, 18:38:57 PM »
There are now two ways for a player to gain IC Experience Points:

  • The Applicant
The Experience Point gain system where the player has to be given Experience Points by an administrator or a race moderator which is mostly done by applying in this board. This Experience Point gain system is well known and remains unchanged. This system follows the Classic World of Darkness Experience Point gain system.
  • The Farmer
The Experience Point gain system by playing time where the player gets Experience Point after a certain amount of time spent in game. The amount of time needed to gain Experience Points is defined by the total amount of IC Experience Points gained. The more Experience Points your character has gained, the more time will be needed to gain the next Experience Point. For the first 30 Experience Points the Experience Point gain rate is set to 1 Experience Point for each payday collected. From 30 to 60 the player will need to collect 2 paydays to gain 1 Experience Point. Once the player has gained 60 Experience Points 3 paydays will be needed to get 1 Experience Point and so on. In general, the amount of paydays that need to be collected is raised by 1 every 30 Experience Points gained. These accounts cannot receive IC Experience Points by applying, in case they apply, their applications will be denied automatically. This system is similar to the SA-MP Experience Point gain system.

  • All the players begin with the second (The Farmer) Experience Point gain type.
  • Both Experience Point gain types are tied to the character, not to the account.
  • Anyone can switch to applicant Experience Point gain type which will result in your current gained IC Experience in being halved. Switching to applicant Experience Point can be requested by using the "/helpme" command. An administrator will bring up a dialog where you need to confirm your irreversible decision.
  • Switching from applicant back to farmer Experience point gain type can be done anytime at a cost of 9 Experience points.
  • There is a penalty of 27 Experience Points each time you decide to go back to a previously used character (E.g.: You name changed your character to another character and you wish to name change back to your previous character.). Contact Rudy to have your previous character sheet set.

Guides & Tutorials / Linguistics (Knowledge)
« on: September 23, 2019, 18:37:14 PM »
Linguistics is probably the most used Knowledge in our game yet it doesn't exist in the 20th anniversary editions of the game lines we are following. Here's the system we'll be following to avoid confusion:

You begin play with the native language of your choice for free, but if you want to speak any other languages, whether modern or ancient, Linguistics is a must. This ability allows you to understand additional languages, but at high levels also offers a more general understanding of linguistic structure. Linguistics may allow you to recognize accents or decipher word puzzles.

Quote
• Novice: One extra language.
•• Practiced: Three extra languages.
••• Competent: Six extra languages.
•••• Expert: Ten extra languages.
••••• Master: Fifteen extra languages.

Specialties: Romance Languages, Kanji, Idioms, Hieroglyphics, Written Expression, Ciphers.

Everyone with the Linguistics Knowledge should get a /(r)ole(p)lay(f)eature which looks like this when it's correctly formatted.

Code: [Select]
Linguistics (••): English (Native), Sign Language, Russian, Spanish.

Mentor, Allies & Contacts Guide

I will start with the easier ones to the more complex ones. At the end of the guide, you will find the source pages and websites I have used to back this up.

On a general note, each of these backgrounds needs to be applied for in a manner that connects your character with them in one way or another, but it is also dependent on what rank you want them. The higher the rank, the most likely moderators would ask a lengthier explanation of how they got into contact and started their relationship in the first place.

A general note - Each of these characters can be Supernatural or connected to that world however it will require a more expansive backstory. And perhaps they'd cost more. (The guide was old so I thought to clarify it more - Edited - 17/04/2020)

Contacts:
“You know people who know things… Naturally, these folks will want occasional help from you as well.” (Taken from MtA 20th, page 309).

That phrase summarizes the concept of your contacts. They are people who are not as powerful as you’re allies, perhaps not even yo0ur friends. They are contacts in which you gained along the way of your relationship. Now they vary from family members to classmates of your long lost high school.
Depending on the explanation of said contact and their story background is what you will be able to gain from them in game. For example, a hacker might want to get in touch with another hacker to help him bring down a firewall of some server. That is NOT a contact’s job. The contact will merely let you have more information about the firewall you are trying to crack, help you gain access codes to said firewall or help you gain a “mercenary” hacker for a said price. Meanwhile, after your done deed of hacking, he will ask you for a favor in return.
Think of it in a sense of “scratching each other’s back”, you both deliver each other with small favors or information packets, meanwhile the contact can ask for a “big favor”, but that will grant you, in a sense, more room to ask for more smaller favors.

Application wise:
The background has up to 10 points, each point granting you 1 contact with a specific background of your choice. The contact can be whatever race or being you choose it to be (but choose with common sense).
In your applications I suggest adding a paragraph about each contact of who they are, how did they meet your character and a sample of what you can get out of them, and as well – what they can get out of you.
For the RPF, add the name of the contact and what they give you (as well as the level of the contact – again, the amount of the Background can be split, as a contact can be more valuable than others).

System-wise:
In order to call upon a contact you must roll depending on the situation – [Social Attribute] + [Contacts Cost]: Difficulty varies.
The Social Attribute changes as to what you are asking and whom you are asking from. Usually, it boils down to using Charisma. The difficulty varies from information on local bars to access codes of a locked facility. Use common sense as you roll for such a feat (If you are unsure what to roll, contact a helper/moderator in-game).

Quick notes:
-   Keep track of your deeds to and from each contact.
-   Make sure the contact is in some sort of allegiance with your character.
-   Use common sense when picking your contacts (not everyone has a friend who is a general in the army).

Allies:
“These allies might be badass friends, helpful animals, people with connections they can work in your favor, errand-runners, or maybe even minor spirits who’ll lend you the occasional favor if and when they feel like doing so.” (Taken from MtA 20th, page 303)

Allies are your friends. They are those who will come to your aid when you ask for it or not (depending on the situation). unlike contacts, they can’t be whatever you want them to be (They can be animals, humans, or with an exception also a part of your race). They can know about your character's world if only you choose so, but with such information comes also a price, as knowing the world of darkness it can be a death wish. They have their own traits and gimmicks, so be sure to put it in the application. Usually, if this wasn’t a server, these Allies were to be story told by the GM, but since we are here in VWH-RP, I advise roleplaying them by yourselves unless said otherwise.

Application wise:
The background has up to 10 points, each point granting you more space to do as much as you want (see the list below).
In your applications I suggest adding a paragraph about each ally - who they are, how did they meet your character and a sample of what you can get out of them.
For the RPF, add a full character sheet for each one. At higher levels, I advise to either group them or just take better allies (example: 1 person for 4 pts.).

Quick notes:
-   Make sure the ally is almost in a point of “to die for” your character.
-   Use common sense when picking your allies.
-   An ally can hold merits, flaws, and backgrounds like a normal character.

Mentor:
“An “elder” mage has taken an interest in you and provides training, guidance, and occasional assistance.” (Taken from MtA 20th, page 318).

As said above from the book (instead of elder mage just place whatever race you are) the mentor is there for you and will provide your character with training, some guidance, and assistance. Then again, each mentor has his or her own training regimen. Some will toss you off a building to teach you to fly while others will carefully hold your hand as you ride the bike.
“The mentor/ student bond tends to be one of the most influential experiences of a mage’s life...” “Mentors have their own agendas, of course, and those goals aren’t always obvious.” (Taken from MtA 20th, page 318).
This means the mentor and student have a relationship that they need to tend to. Unlike most applications so far, the mentor was only used for personal gain in which the system was set up in that way, but it is not enough. The mentor must also gain something back, as a relationship works both ways. Heck, do missions in-game, get some EXP and good RP and all for the cost of roleplaying your character properly.

Application wise:
The background has up to 5 points, each point granting you more freedom in spreading the character sheet of the mentor, and what kind of relationship both the character and mentor have (see the list below).
In your application story, you need to explain how your character met this mentor and why he/she have taken you under their wing. You must show what your character does to further the mentor’s secret agenda (usually the agenda of the mentor is hidden by the storyteller, but since we are all our own storytellers you should come up with one).
You must provide a satisfactory character sheet for your mentor.

Quick Notes:
-   Your mentor has been in the same tradition, clan or whatever it is you are. This can be changed
        depending on the situation.
-   The mentor can be younger than the student.
-   The mentor has his/her own agenda. Remember that.
-   You should RP outside of applications with your mentor, furthering the plot.
-   A good character sheet for a mentor is based on the given list of mentor levels.
-   A Mentor can hold merits, flaws, and backgrounds like a normal character.

Guides & Tutorials / PvP System
« on: September 23, 2019, 18:29:43 PM »
Introduction
PvP mode is an optional mode for players who want to experience the dark World of Darkness at its fullest. While in PvP mode, you don't need a firm reason to attack another player as long as the target is also in PvP mode. The classic (SA-MP) "roleplay" reasoning for attacking is still needed if a PvP player is attacking players who are not in PvP mode. PvP mode doesn't apply for scripted combat. Regardless, senseless killings won't be tolerated.

PvP Reasoning
There is no invalid attack reason as long as you roleplay by your character's concept. Hybrids, for example, can kill anyone and anyone can kill them just for the mere fact they are Hybrids. Same logic can be applied to Hunters. Vampires and Werewolves conflict can be reasoned with the same logic, BSD and Silver Fangs, Technocrats and Traditionalists, Sabbat and Camarilla, etc. Note that you need still to find out IC-ly about a certain character's race or affiliation.

Parties
When it comes to PvP parties, anyone can be killed by anyone without being accused for DM as long as the scene is not completely senseless. A PvP party is considered a group of characters where the majority are PvP players.

Deaths
Dying in PvP mode grants one free death, meaning you will not suffer XP or attribute loss on the first PvP death.

This triggers a 48-payday cooldown.

Updated rule:

If the character dies again before the cooldown expires, the character is permanently killed (CK).

This replaces the old “second death = XP/attribute loss” system.

Bonus Experience
PvP players get extra experience points spawned. The first experience point gets spawned when a PvP player collects 24 paydays, the second experience point will be awarded after another 23 paydays collected and so on. The rate at which PvP experience will be given will improve until it drops down to 1 experience point every 6 padays. If you've spent more than 50% of the payday in AFK mode (/(h)ouse sleep); that payday won't count for PvP extra experience. Once you die the PvP experience rate gets reset to 1 experience point every 24 padays collected and you need to start over as if you just switched to PvP.

Commands
The command to toggle PvP mode is /(tog)gle(pvp) and it is also good to know that it takes 3 paydays to disable PvP mode and another 3 to enable it. Informaton about PvP mode and "free death" cooldown can be checked via /e(xp)erience(log) command. /id command prints out whether a player has PvP enabled or not while /pvplist lists all PvP players online. PvP players get a notification every time a non PvP player enables PvP mode.

Community Rules & Regulations / Forum & Discord Rules
« on: September 23, 2019, 17:55:02 PM »
Participation in the Vampires, Werewolves and Humans Roleplay website constitutes agreement to the following guidelines, which apply to posts, profile information, avatars, signatures, any other content on this site and participation in general. This includes private messages, which we have the ability to read, but only do so when a violation is reported to us or we have a legitimate reason. Although rare, it does happen.

Because of the live nature of the discussions on this community, it is not possible for us to review and/or confirm the accuracy or validity of a message before it is posted. If you believe that someone has violated our User Guidelines or you have spotted content that may otherwise require attention, please send a private message to me or a staff member with a link to the content and a brief description of what you believe is wrong. Notification is voluntary and anonymous, but in no case should a user respond to a situation personally, thereby aggravating the situation further. Responding to a violation in an inflammatory manner is a violation in itself and will result in appropriate action.

Any content that violates our User Guidelines will be removed. Interpretation of our guidelines is at the discretion of the staff.

Quote
1. Cross-posting is not allowed and will result in the removal of one or more posts. Cross-posting is defined as posting the same information in two or more locations. When posting your topic, please try to post it in the most appropriate place within the organizational structure of our community. Identical topics posted in the same or different forums will be removed.

Quote
2. While member post count has meaning, it should not be taken too seriously. Attempts to artificially increase your post count are prohibited. This includes the mass creation of short or meaningless posts. When participating in game threads such as "Word Association Game" or "What song are you listening to right now?" please do not post consecutive replies within a short period of time. (29/05/2015 Edit: This includes but is not limited to: one-word posting, double posting, bumping old threads (necroposting), posting meaningless content in a constructive thread.)

Quote
3. Advertisements are not allowed. Generally speaking, posts made specifically for the promotion of a website, product or service are considered advertising or, at least, posts made that unnecessarily send people to a website that you are in some way affiliated with. It does not matter if it is a commercial website, a personal website, a non-profit website, etc.

Quote
4. You are not allowed to post an affiliate URL that leads to you earning cash, banner impressions, credits, points, etc.

Quote
5. Do not post personal, real-life information such as home addresses and home phone numbers.
Quote
6. As this is an English-speaking community, we require that posted content is in the English language, so that it can be well received and properly monitored.
Quote
7. Vulgar language and inappropriate material is not allowed and will be removed. Abbreviations, self-censoring and attempts to circumvent the word censoring feature of the community software also violate this guideline. If your post contains a word that is censored by the software, you must remove that word or the post will be removed. If you feel that the censor is acting in error, please contact us.
We try to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere whenever it is possible within the main subject matter of this community. Please keep this in mind when participating.

Quote
8. When linking to outside websites, you must ensure that the content of the link is appropriate for our community, in line with the guidelines laid out here. This includes mentioning or referencing a site, even if the mention is not hyperlinked. If you post a link and that link is automatically censored, it is considered to be an inappropriate link and you should remove it from your post immediately. If left, all posts that feature inappropriate links will be removed.
Quote
9. Posts that discuss illegal activities, transactions, or websites such as warez, cracks, etc. will be removed. This includes the posting of information that you have obtained illegally.
Quote
10. Political and religious discussions are not allowed on this website. If it is believed that the end result of a discussion will be political or religious, the post may be removed. Likewise, strong political and religious sentiments should be kept out of profiles, signatures, and other content.
Quote
11. Do not post copyrighted materials (articles, videos, audio, etc.) that you do not have permission to reproduce or distribute. For text articles, most of the time you may quote a small portion of the article (usually no more than 1/5 or 1/6) and you must link to the source (if online) or provide the source (if offline). Posting the entire article, even with the source, constitutes copyright infringement. This is not the place to illegally trade or distribute copyrighted (or those with questionable copyright status) video or audio clips.
Quote
12. Respect is the name of the game. You must respect your fellow members. Please refrain from inflammatory and defamatory comments as well as flaming, taunting, and general disrespect. Do not simply put down the opinion or advice given by others. If you don't agree with it, say why - respectfully. Don't just tell them they're wrong. Do not make uninvited remarks about typos, duplicate posts, posting styles, etc.

When an opinion-based discussion is being had, do not state things like "there is no argument" as if your opinion is the only one or the only one that matters. When someone has clearly stated their opinion, do not say things like "Are you serious?" and "Are you kidding me?" Remember, this is not a debate club. This is a friendly discussion community. Allow people to have their opinion. No one is to act as some sort of opinion judge, responding to each one to say whether they agree with it or not or whether or not it is a valid, well thought out opinion.

We do not allow threads to be started to discuss who or what is the most overrated, who or what is your least favorite, etc.

Quote
13. Signatures are limited to 10 lines of text. This includes blank lines. Images must be of appropriate size. The text in the signature may be customized by the BBCode in use on the forums. It is recommended that you stick with readable fonts and colors and that the size is not too large. Images may not be under each other unless their combined height is equal to or under 250 pixels. This also applies to videos.

14. Each user is allowed to create one account. If you would like to change your username, please see the Donation information section, we can do it for you while you can keep all of your profile data, posts, and other content.
Quote
15. Automated account creation, participation, and content scraping are not permitted.

16. We know that people will have to leave our community (of their own free will or otherwise) from time to time and to that end, we do not delete accounts, posts, or other content posted on our community. All content is granted to us with perpetual electronic publishing rights because any content posted on this community becomes a part of the community, even if you no longer are. You may request an item to be removed at any time, but we will decide when and if to remove content from our community. If you wish to no longer be identified with our community, we will be glad to close your account and alter your profile information to remove all identifying characteristics. After account closure, you will no longer be able to participate in this community and this action is not reversible.

17. Administrators have the final say on anything. If you have a problem, you may make a complaint to them directly and not publicly on the website. Creating threads or posts that question or reference administrative decisions or potential administrative decisions, such as post removals and thread closures, is not permitted. We are not perfect and if you feel that we have made a mistake, please privately contact a staff member and we will review the situation.
Quote
18. Whenever you are participating in this community, please keep in mind that we strive to create a fun, friendly and inviting atmosphere. So, please have fun and enjoy the forums!
Quote
19. Do not post in refund threads, player complaints, administrator complaints, and ban appeals if the thread in question does not involve you or you do not have evidence to post. You are disrupting the order of the thread and what you post is not necessary to the thread, if you have something relevant to say about the thread but feel like you shouldn't post, then feel free to contact the administrator handling the thread.
