A character I plan on playing down the road.
« on: February 27, 2020, 10:40:35 AM »
Isaiah grew up in a normal home. Isaiah's father was a dock worker who was quite hard on Isaiah growing up but in totality was a decent man and a good father. Isaiah's mother was kind, caring and industrious, she worked at a laundromat her whole life despite her husband’s discontent. The majority of the money Isaiah's family made was put towards sending Isaiah to a good school. School was hellacious for Isaiah, Even though black and white people were meant to be equals much animosity lay between the differing races of people out of resentment for the past that they had endured. Isaiah was a smart kid who received great grades and excelled in athletics as well. The seventies came around when Isaiah was quite young and the movement of peace and togetherness effected his life heavily, racism was becoming less and less prevalent. Isaiah joined the school football team when he was a freshman, he excelled on the gridiron and he quickly came to develop an overwhelming desire for the adrenaline rush that came with each play. The addiction to adrenaline that Isaiah was developing soon spread from the football field and into his regular life. Isaiah would attend wild parties, race in fast cars that belonged to his far wealthier schoolmates. Isaiah didn't care what he was doing or how dangerous it was, all he wanted was that rush of adrenaline that flowed through his veins. Isaiah spent much of his time close to graduating high school in mental turmoil trying to decide what he would do. He had multiple scholarships offered to him from colleges and universities that wished for him to play on their football teams, he was good enough that he would have been able to join the NFL. The NFL wasn't good enough for Isaiah and he kept searching. Isaiah's search came to an end when he met an army recruiter in front of a grocery store one day and he knew what the ultimate adrenaline rush would be. Much to the disapproval of his family Isaiah signed up for the army and shipped off to basic training.

Isaiah found being in the army challenging but that was the entire point of it after all. Isaiah excelled in basic training, firearms combat, close quarters combat, he even showed a great aptitude for strategy. It became clear rather quickly to Isaiah's superiors that he would make an excellent marksman. He was sent off to sniper training where he would train for the foreseeable future. Isaiah met a female officer during his time in sniper training, they clicked immediately but they knew that it was not a good idea for them to pursue a relationship. Desire between two people who want each other often overwhelms reason so it was not long before Isaiah and Lauren began their relationship in secret. They spent many moments together while in the army but Isaiah was soon going to finish up with his training and they would be separated. They decided that they would report their relationship to the army and get married so that they could be relocated together to the same base when Isaiah was shipped off to active duty.

Years into a happy marriage and a successful career in the army Isaiah was assigned to a squad tasked with retrieving nuclear materials that had been left behind from the cold war. Isaiah was the designated marksman of the squad. Isaiah and his squad had gotten rather close over the period of many successful missions, they considered one another brother's but their squad leader was different. Their squad leader was Jeremiah, a man who liked killing and enjoyed the job that they did even if it meant bringing pain to others. On one of these painful nights Isaiah caught Jeremiah raping a woman who lived in the village that they were staying in for the time being. When the squad's mission concluded and they were sent back to their base Isaiah reported Jeremiah's crime to their superiors. This was an accusation that could not be taken lightly but the other members of Isaiah's squad backed him up. Jeremiah was court martialed and Isaiah was called to testify against him. Isaiah's testimony was enough to convict Jeremiah who was promptly dishonourably discharged from the army. Jeremiah was not given prison time for his crimes so that the army could sweep everything under the rug. The army didn't want the public knowing that this happened. Jeremiah was free to return home to gather his things and then be sent back stateside and when he did he sought revenge upon Isaiah. Jeremiah murdered Isaiah's wife in secret before leaving the base and disappearing in the country they resided. When an autopsy was performed upon Lauren it was found that she was not the only one murdered because she was carrying their unborn child in her belly. When Isaiah found out he was so distraught that he could not see a life for himself in the army any longer.

Isaiah deserted the military and became gun for hire in order to make just enough money to fund his search for Jeremiah. Isaiah was hellbent on taking his revenge on the man who killed his wife and child. It took him years but he finally managed to track down Jeremiah. It turned out that Jeremiah was stateside in a small town called Palomino Creek not that far from the city of Las Angeles. Isaiah knew that if he travelled back to the United States that he would be picked up by the military and would receive a dishonourable discharge for desertion but he didn't care anymore. He bought a plane ticket and just when he was about to board as he suspected an army attache detained him at the airport. He was brought back to the nearest base and he was court martialed as well. The Judge was ready to throw the book at Isaiah and throw him in a military prison until he had realized what Isaiah had went through and what had happened to his wife and child. The Judge took pity on Isaiah and dishonourably discharged him with no further penalty. He was sent back to exactly where he wanted to be, the United States. Isaiah worked as private security for a short period of time so that he could get enough money to buy the gear he needed to recon and take down Jeremiah. When he was ready he set off to Palomino Creek but what he would discover there would be far beyond his wildest imaginations.

Unbeknownst to Isaiah and humanity as a whole Jeremiah had become a vampire in his pursuit for power. Jeremiah resided in Palomino Creek because it was a hotbed for supernatural activity. Isaiah spent weeks spying on Jeremiah and it was soon clear that something was very strange with him. This didn't deter Isaiah though because he was going to avenge his family or he was going to die trying. He planned for weeks and noticed that without fail Jeremiah would go to the hospital in Montgomery once a week in secret to retrieve something from one of the paramedics who worked there. This was Isaiah's only option, he had to set up an ambush. Isaiah made an urban coloured ghille suit, something that he was taught to do in sniper school. Isaiah climbed on top of the vehicle dealership roof in Montgomery with all of his equipment, sniper rifle, ghille suit, food and water. He waited there for days for Jeremiah and he finally arrived. Isaiah took one last deep breath, held his breath, pulled the trigger and exhaled. He looked through the scope of the rifle to go for a second shot in case he missed but all he saw was a frightened EMT and a pile of ash laying upon the ground. He was terribly confused by what was happening but he didn't have time to think about it because he was ripped to his feet mere moments later. He whipped his knife out and prepared to fight with whoever it was that caught him but he took a punch to the face harder than any he had ever felt before. Isaiah backed up against the edge of the roof and looked upon the man who punched him. The man was neither large nor exceptionally muscular but he hit like a truck. Isaiah knew he wasn't going to be able to take another punch like that and finish this fight so he avoided getting hit to the best of his ability. Isaiah parried his opponent's strikes repeatedly, slashing up the mans hands rather well. He could see that his opponent was getting frustrated and Isaiah took this as his chance to go on the offensive. He lunged in and starting cutting the man up, weaving and ducking through strikes as they came. He finally slit the man's throat and enraged stabbed him until he was unrecognizable. In this process of repeatedly stabbing the man in the face he burst into ashes before Isaiah's very eyes and it was now clear what had happened to Jeremiah.

Isaiah quickly returned to Palomino Creek and after packing up all of his things he wandered off in the woods where he planned to kill himself in the hopes that he could be reunited with his family. He sat there in contemplation for a long time with a gun in his hands. He decided that he would wait to see once last sunrise before he put a bullet in his skull but his tranquility wouldn't last until sunrise for he was being stalked from the shadows. A woman walked up to Isaiah as he sat near the cabin in the woods and told him that Isaiah did not belong there and that he had to leave. He assured the woman that he wouldn't be there much longer but she wouldn't take no for an answer. He showed the woman his gun not to threaten her but in the hopes that she would simply leave him alone long enough for him to do what it was he had planned. The woman did not seem to care for what Isaiah had planned because not a second later this woman had turned into a giant hulking monster. A werewolf. Isaiah was terribly confused but he knew that he had to defend himself. He leapt up from his seated position and shot at the monster repeatedly but the bullets seemed to have very little effect. The creature rushed Isaiah and clawed him across the back, Isaiah had been hurt more than he ever had in this one strike but little did he know this was weak for a werewolf. Isaiah pulled his knife and backed himself up, he waited for the werewolf to strike at him again. He evaded the strikes of the monster and when she seemed to be getting tired Isaiah threw himself on top of her chest. He raised his knife and plunged it directly into the monster's eye. They both fell to the ground, Isaiah was exhausted but it seemed that this monster was dead. He heard a sound coming from the bushes behind him and quickly stood up to defend himself once again but it wasn't another monster, it was a good looking man in a suit. This man said that he was watching and what he saw was incredibly impressive. He said that he had never seen one of his own 'kind' take on a werewolf in single combat and to see a human do it and come out victorious was truly incredible. He acknowledged that this particular werewolf was weak and lacked strategy but that the feat itself was still very meaningful. He took Isaiah back to his home and fed him his blood.

When Isaiah woke up the next day he learned the man was Etrius and that he was a vampire. The thing that Isaiah had fought was a werewolf and there was a world of many interesting things far beyond what he thought had existed. Isaiah told Etrius' of the two men he had killed that turned to ash and Etrius explained they were vampires. Isaiah was made never to speak of these killings again because if any other 'Kindred' found out what he had done he would be sentenced to death. Etrius said that his loyalty was with his clan first and he saw great potential in Isaiah so he would keep his secret. Etrius kept Isaiah as a ghoul, he taught him of Kindred society, how to conduct himself and that one day if he wished he too would be able to become a vampire. Isaiah started to feel a brotherly love for Etrius that caused his life to brighten up somewhat, he no longer wished to end his own life but simply wished to help Etrius in any way that he could. He didn't know it at the time but he was blood bonded. One day the killing of the werewolf came back to bite Isaiah in the ass, almost quite literally. Isaiah resided in Etriuses library with him when a group of werewolves set his house on fire and burst into his home. Isaiah and Etrius fought them off to the best of their ability but they were cornered. They escaped out of the window and parted ways. They would chase Etrius and Isaiah would escape. Etrius disappeared. Isaiah thought that perhaps his newfound friend was killed by the werewolves but also hoped that he was just laying low until the beasts got sick and tired of the hunt. Whatever happened one thing was clear, Isaiah needed to find a new source of blood. Isaiah was already friendly with another vampire named Agnes, a Gangrel who considered herself independent of the Camarilla. Isaiah went to Agnes and asked for her blood, it was not long after she agreed that a romance between them sprouted. Their relationship started off good but it became incredibly toxic when it was revealed to Isaiah that Agnes had a fetish for beating her lovers. Isaiah had endured pain before and the blood bond caused him to love her so he went along with this and eventually their relationship reached its epitome, she made him a vampire.

Things only went downhill for Isaiah after he became a vampire, his relationship with Agnes became increasingly more abusive as Isaiah was able to heal easier and easier. She broke his bones and cut his flesh apart, only for him to heal and have her do the same to him again the next day. Her sexual perversion was starting to cause him too much heartache. Everything came to a head one day when Isaiah begged Agnes to stop what she was doing to him. She broke his arm in the middle of their escapades and he frenzied. His mind was overcome by the beast and when he woke he woke to the blurry memory of sucking his sire dry, he had committed the ultimate sin of diablerie and he knew that he would be killed for it. Isaiah fled Palomino Creek and the United States all together. In his time as a vampire he had heard of a different kind of vampires known as the Laibon, vampires who were for the most part African like he was. He used what little money he had left to travel to Africa in search of the Laibon, to look for some kind of peace in the terrible world that he had been introduced to.

Isaiah searched for some kind of purpose in Africa for a long time, he met many vampires but they were mostly Followers of Set, Ravnos and Assamite's. He decided that the best way to draw out and meet one of the African vampires would be to live among one of the primitive tribes of African humans. He did this for a while and was approached by a strange man in the woods one night as he was out cutting wood. The man had many eyes like you would see on a spider. He told Isaiah that he knew what it was he was searching for and that if he was ready now was the time. No questions asked Isaiah went with the man. He met other African vampires and found that these Laibon called themselves Akunanse. Isaiah lived among them and learned their ways. He immersed himself in their culture and learned there lore as if he was one of them and eventually he was. They adopted him into their bloodline and taught him their special discipline. Life among them was beautiful. They lived a peaceful and ascetic life, free of worldly possessions and free of the influence of modern society. They fed only when they had to and when they did feed it was only upon animals. Good things never last forever though and they were soon attacked by a formidable foe. A group of Ajaba attacked the place where he and the other Akunanse lived. The Akunanse and the Ajaba each fought fiercely and lost soldiers on both sides. The Ajaba had the home court disadvantage and were forced to flee but by the time they fled there were only a couple Akunanse left standing. The other Akunanse wanted to move and return to heir ascetic life of peace and tranquility but there was a fire inside of Isaiah that hadn't quite been snuffed out yet. He vowed before the other two Akunanse survivors that from this day forth he would dedicate himself to destroying any and all of the shapeshifters until the day that he reaches his final death. He knew that the task at hand would be incredibly difficult and that nothing else was more important than wiping the scourge of fera from the world, not even the lives of those who taught him everything so he took it upon himself to make the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good. He attacked and diablerized both of the weakened Akunanse who remained and in doing so increased his blood potency by leaps and bounds. He felt for his kin who he had brought to their final deaths but he knew that they would live within him forever and help him accomplish his most important of goals.

Isaiah travelled to a more modernized portion of African and strong-armed a local gang into giving him all of the gear that they had, guns, knives, grenades, mines, enough weaponry and armour to outfit a small army. Isaiah would be an army of one. He would travel across Africa and with his battle tested body and mind he would take out the Ajaba that destroyed his home one by one. He soon tasted the blood of the fera and it was not long after that he was addicted to it. Addiction to fera blood was not as huge of a deal for Isaiah as it would be for most vampires, after all Isaiah was already hunting down the fera that he had fed on so it offered no further penalty and only advantages. He became bloodthirsty and wanted nothing more than to destroy every living and breathing fera off of the face of the earth. Where most people would see such a task as impossible he did not only see it as possible but was so confident or deluded that he saw it as a certainty, only a matter of time. He thought it would be fitting that he return to the place where all of this started and destroy the fera in Palomino Creek first. When he arrived he was surprised to see that it was all but abandoned by the supernatural. It wasn't long before he had discovered that many of the monsters he once knew had moved to a place called Angel Pine in Whetstone. He made his way there with his sight set upon the death of every fera he might come across.
