Alex Maison had been sitting at home conducting research when a letter slid under his cabin door. The letter had a wax seal with a fancy G stamped into it.
He picked the letter up and went to his study to read it. As his eyes read the paper his eyes widened. The letter was from his mother Diana, whom his father had told him was dead.
"My dearest child,
I am sorry that I have been gone from your life for so long. Family matters which I could not discuss with you had brought me away from you and from the town of Angel Pine. I have heard that you have followed in your father's footsteps in his art but it appears you haven't inherited his mindset against my kind.
I will be returning soon to Angel Pine and I have purchased a place more suitable for us, somewhere safe from the local wolves. One of my servants should be arriving before too long to act as your porter and bring you to our new accommodations.
I will be placing you in charge of the estate until my arrival.
Diana Maison"
Alex nearly dropped the letter in shock. He was reeling. His mother was coming to Angel Pine.
